Artificial Muscle
Artificial Muscle is an innovative high volume manufacturer that is bringing the unique and newly patented Electroactive Polymer Artificial Muscle (EPAM) technology from the labs of SRI International to the many industries that today need or use electrical transducers and actuators. EPAM-based components provide better energy density than existing actuators based on electromagnetic technology or other actuator technologies. This allows engineers to design smaller, lighter, quieter, cheaper, and more efficient products. AMI designs and manufactures new solid-state actuator components for use in speakers, generators, motors, pumps, valves, sensors, and linear action devices in general.
Artificial Muscle was acquired by Bayer MaterialScience in March 2010.
